Last Week’s Prediction Records:

Aman: 11-3

Cullen: 13-1

Mickayeen: 9-5

Rahim: 11-3

Joel: 12-2

Adam: 11-3

Kevin: 12-2

Overall Prediction Records:

Aman: 50-40-1

Cullen: 63-27-1

Mickayeen: 51-39-1

Rahim: 54-36-1

Joel: 52-38-1

Adam: 58-32-1

Kevin: 12-2 (Started Week 7)

What an incredible Week 7 it was for us at Fourth Quarter Sports! Last week we had the most games picked correctly we’ve ever had, with six out of seven writers predicting 11 or more games correctly. We’re on a roll! Our new writer, Kevin Dannaher, started off his weekly picks by going 12-2! That puts his percentage at 85.7%. That puts him as the leader in percentage, but our leader in most correct picks remains Cullen Jekel, who went 13-1 last week!

How he does it? I don’t know. We haven’t had anyone pick every game correct in a week yet, but Cullen continues to work his magic and was dang close! Can we continue to improve this week with our Week 8 NFL picks? Let’s find out our Week 8 NFL picks and see who we’ve got winning every game!

Dolphins vs Texans (Thursday)

Predictions

Aman: Texans

Cullen: Texans

Mickayeen: Texans

Rahim: Texans

Joel: Texans

Adam: Texans

Kevin: Dolphins

Houston continues to roll after starting 0-3. They’re winners of four straight games and are now leading their division. Things have gone the other way for Miami, who after starting 3-0 are 1-3.

Even though the Texans have won four straight, they’ve only scored more than 20 points in one of those games. Their last three games have ended with them scoring 19, 20 and 20. If Miami can hold the Texans to a similar score in this game, they have a real shot at winning. They’ve been inconsistent with their scoring, so who knows what they’ll do in this game?

Eagles vs Jaguars

Predictions

Aman: Eagles

Cullen: Eagles

Mickayeen: Eagles

Rahim: Eagles

Joel: Eagles

Adam: Eagles

Kevin: Eagles

The Jaguars are now losers of three straight games. In those games, they haven’t scored more than 14 points. It’s obvious the absence of Leonard Fournette is still hurting them, but what’s hurting them more is QB Blake Bortles. Last week Bortles was benched for Cody Kessler. Bortles will be the starter again this week, but he’ll be on a short leash.

Last year the Eagles won a lot of games because of their defensive line. They haven’t been the same this year, but this game might be perfect for them to really get things going. Expect Bortles to struggle again, making things tough on his defense once more. Watch, the Jaguars will play spoiler and mark all of us down on our Week 8 NFL picks.

Ravens vs Panthers

Predictions

Aman: Panthers

Cullen: Ravens

Mickayeen: Panthers

Rahim: Ravens

Joel: Ravens

Adam: Panthers

Kevin: Ravens

This should be a good game to watch. Despite giving up 24 points to the Saints last week, the Ravens’ defense remains one of the best in the NFL. The Saints are one of the best offensive teams in the league, so giving up 24 points isn’t bad. Cam Newton and the Panthers are much different than Drew Brees and the Saints.

Carolina doesn’t score as many points as the Saints do, but they have a different offensive style. A key to this game, and any game when a team plays against the Panthers, is containing Cam Newton. Newton leads all QBs with 257 rushing yards this season. That’s an average of 42.8 yards per game. Baltimore needs to cut those rushing yards down and force Newton to make more throws. We’re split on this game, so we’ll see who gets a victory from this one for their Week 8 NFL picks.

Broncos vs Chiefs

Predictions

Aman: Chiefs

Cullen: Chiefs

Mickayeen: Chiefs

Rahim: Broncos

Joel: Chiefs

Adam: Chiefs

Kevin: Chiefs

Last time these two AFC West rivals faced off was in Week 4. Denver almost won that game, but the Chiefs were too much offensively in the fourth quarter. Can Denver repeat what they did to Patrick Mahomes in the first three quarters of that game and carry it over to the fourth quarter? If they can do that, they have a chance at winning this game. If Patrick Mahomes and the offense of the Chiefs gets going early, Denver doesn’t stand a chance. All of us except Rahim have the Chiefs winning. If the Broncos win, Rahim might just get the leg up with his Week 8 NFL picks.

Browns vs Steelers

Predictions

Aman: Steelers

Cullen: Steelers

Mickayeen: Steelers

Rahim: Steelers

Joel: Steelers

Adam: Steelers

Kevin: Steelers

What do you think the chances are this game ends in a tie? I’m gonna say not very likely. The Steelers and Browns are both different teams than they were when they played in Week 1. Rookie QB Baker Mayfield wasn’t the starter in that game. He’ll get his chance to shine in this game against a division rival.

For the Steelers, they seem to be back on track, even without Le’Veon Bell. RB James Conner has rushed for 110+ yards and 2 TDs in their two consecutive victories. If he can keep that going, it’ll be very tough for the Browns defense to stop them. If the Browns can contain Conner, this could be a close one.

Seahawks vs Lions

Predictions

Aman: Seahawks

Cullen: Lions

Mickayeen: Lions

Rahim: Seahawks

Joel: Lions

Adam: Seahawks

Kevin: Lions

Seattle has been pretty good defensively all season. They’re giving up an average of 19.5 points per game, which ranks fifth in the NFL. Can the Lions and their 26.2 points per game overcome this solid defense of Seattle?

Last time the Lions played a defense as solid as the one Seattle has, it was against the Dallas Cowboys. They lost that game, but it was on a last second field goal. I think this game could be a close one.

Buccaneers vs Bengals

Predictions

Aman: Buccaneers

Cullen: Buccaneers

Mickayeen: Buccaneers

Rahim: Bengals

Joel: Bengals

Adam: Bengals

Kevin: Buccaneers

The Buccaneers won last week, but it was in OT against the Browns. In my opinion, they were lucky to win that game. The Bengals were a completely different story last week. They got wrecked by the Chiefs on both sides of the ball. Kansas City, one of the worst defense’s in the league, held the Bengals to 10 points.

This game could be a bounce back game for the Bengals. The Buccaneers have one of the worst defense’s in the league. Three of us are picking the Bengals in our Week 8 NFL picks, so don’t expect the Bengals to be as bad offensively as they were a week ago.

Jets vs Bears

Predictions

Aman: Bears

Cullen: Bears

Mickayeen: Bears

Rahim: Bears

Joel: Bears

Adam: Bears

Kevin: Bears

After scoring 34 and 42 points, the Jets were brought back down to earth last week against the Vikings, scoring 17 points. That was against a Vikings defense who seems to be getting stronger. Now they have to play a Bears defense who gave up 38 points last, but it was to the Patriots.

The Bears are better on defense than what they showed last week. This should be a bounce back game for them. If they can hang with the Patriots, they can hang with anyone. Hopefully that loss last week doesn’t get to them. That would be bad for our Week 8 NFL picks, and more importantly, the Bears’ chances at winning their division.

Redskins vs Giants

Predictions

Aman: Redskins

Cullen: Redskins

Mickayeen: Redskins

Rahim: Redskins

Joel: Redskins

Adam: Giants

Kevin: Giants

All the Redskins have to do to win this game is get pressure on Eli Manning. Eli Manning gets a lot of the blame for the Giants being bad, and rightfully so, but the offensive line hasn’t made his job easy in any way. Saquon Barkley and Odell Beckham Jr. will make some plays, but will it be enough to overcome the constant pressure Eli will be under over the course of the game? Adam and Kevin are picking the Giants in their Week 8 NFL picks. Are the rest of us underestimating them?

Colts vs Raiders

Predictions

Aman: Colts

Cullen: Colts

Mickayeen: Colts

Rahim: Colts

Joel: Colts

Adam: Colts

Kevin: Colts

Khalil Mack and then Amari Cooper. Who could be traded next? Will it be Derek Carr? I wouldn’t be surprised if the Raiders made another trade before the deadline. It seems like pretty much everyone is available at this point. The Raiders are one of, if not the worst team in the NFL this season. The thing is, they don’t really care.

Indianapolis still has hopes in their division. Even though they’re 2-5 and in last place, they’re only two games back from first place. This win will definitely help. Honestly, the Raiders might actually be trying to lose games at this point. That’s good for the Colts. Hopefully for our Week 8 NFL picks, the Raiders don’t decide to play spoiler and give us all a loss.

49ers vs Cardinals

Predictions

Aman: Cardinals

Cullen: Cardinals

Mickayeen: 49ers

Rahim: Cardinals

Joel: Cardinals

Adam: 49ers

Kevin: Cardinals

This game has the potential to be snooze fest. Either one team is going to do nothing and make the other look like a power house, or both teams will play terribly and bore us all to death. QB Josh Rosen continues to look terrible. Don’t expect that to change much in this game.

C.J. Beathard has been better than expected, but the 49ers are still struggling. Last week they played the Rams, so it really wasn’t fair. This week they have chance at beating the Cardinals, but in the long run, does it really matter? For draft position is does, but that’s about it. I guess it also matters for our Week 8 NFL picks. We don’t want to be falling behind in our rankings.

Packers vs Rams

Predictions

Aman: Rams

Cullen: Rams

Mickayeen: Rams

Rahim: Packers

Joel: Rams

Adam: Packers

Kevin: Rams

Can’t wait for this game! Can the Rams stay undefeated and move to 8-0 on the year? Or will Aaron Rodgers take down the NFL’s best team? Aaron Rodgers hasn’t been fully healthy all season long, but the Packers are coming off a bye week, which means Rodgers should be in a lot better shape than he has been.

The Packers are also getting some of their injured players back, which will only boost them as the season goes on. This should be a high scoring game. I can see this game going down to the wire, with the winner being whoever has the ball last. The Rams better watch out if it’s Aaron Rodgers.

Saints vs Vikings (Sunday Night)

Predictions

Aman: Vikings

Cullen: Vikings

Mickayeen: Saints

Rahim: Vikings

Joel: Saints

Adam: Vikings

Kevin: Saints

The rematch of one of the best playoff games from a season ago. It looked like the Saints had the win in the bag after coming back, but WR Stefon Diggs made an incredible play for the Vikings to put them on top. Will this game have the same result? I doubt we’ll see another “Miracle in Minneapolis” type play, but wouldn’t it be great if we did?

Drew Brees is playing at a very high level this season. He’s got his team at 5-1 and poised to get a top seed in the playoffs, but not if the Vikings have anything to say about it. After starting 1-2-1, the Vikings are winners of three straight games and are in first place in their division. Two of those three wins came against the Cardinals and Jets, so we’ll see how they handle the offense of the Saints.

Patriots vs Bills (Monday Night)

Predictions

Aman: Patriots

Cullen: Patriots

Mickayeen: Bills

Rahim: Patriots

Joel: Patriots

Adam: Patriots

Kevin: Patriots

New England has been on fire since their 1-2 start to the season. They’re now winners of four straight, beating the Dolphins, Colts, Chiefs and Bears over that span. Now they play a Bills team who is still struggling to figure out what the heck they’re doing at QB. Buffalo has had a surprise game this year when they beat the Vikings, but I’m pretty sure this won’t be one of those games. Mickayeen is picking the Bills, which is risky, but maybe the Bills will surprise and give him an extra win in his Week 8 NFL picks.

  1. Kind of surprised most of us chose the Texans over the Dolphins. Thought it was going to be evenly split. Texans are in-form right now, but Dolphins are very capable to defeating big teams, as we saw earlier this NFL season. Would be interesting to see a Dolphins’ win.

    1. I personally don’t think the Texans are that good. They’ve benefited from playing a fairly weak schedule. I don’t really know why I picked them this week, but I did haha
